A must share purchase I made

This lurker is so excited that I must post this. I do not have a water filter system. Without one, a refrigerator with an ice maker is useless for what it is intended for. I searched for some way to pressurize a garrafon of purified water and the price was beyond what I was willing to pay. There had to be a way, short of ice cube trays, of making potable ice. I found it, bought it, and wish to pass on my findings. This is what I bought from Amazon US.

This countertop unit cost $130 USD, makes more ice than two sots can consume, all with water you pour into it.

It draws only 140 watts (measured) when making ice, much cheaper than bagged hielo and much more convenient that a trip to the corner tienda.

I had to put mine outside on the terrace because it was too noisy.

The freezing of water is noisy?   LOL

Yes, it is. Noisier than an old refrigerator.
