Yes I do read and post on TOB. Both boards serve a purpose. TOB is more straight information exchange whereas this board is more friendly and chitty chatty.

I keep up with new posts on TOB. There is often good info to be had, but, I have no interest in hanging out in the uptight environment.

This board is eclectic, interesting, and for the most part, people are civil to one another.
We also have the best Admin and Mods... IMHO. They are neither heavy handed nor present-in-name-only.
We are truly blessed among boards. Lizzy

I read the other board, but never ost as I tried a long time ago to be a member and NEVER got a assword from them. I did not just try once.......So, I lurk there a few minutes a day for info I may need or use, and then I am off of there. I would like to see more useful info on this board and then I would never go there.

I occasionally read the OB. It is my opinion that the value of TOB is primarily for locals and those moving to the area. This board is more convivial and is of interest to those like me, that can't for various reasons, relocate. I very much like the area and health permitting will continue to visit the area as often as we can. An aside to the Dawg, please do not stop posting. not only are your posts amusing the responses to your posts are as well.

Thank you for that nice comment, LG. I like this board and the attitude of its administrators. I also like to post on the Expat Forum under the Mexico section and the Michoacan Forum run by Peter. Fun places unencumbered by Presbyterian tight assed values. If you don´t know these boards, I´ll povide links.

TOB is moving in the direction desired by its owners and that is fine. I still cruise there once in a while for some information concerning trends in the Lake Chapala foreign community and my wife still posts there occasionally. Local competition is good and improves the e-communication products for all. Of course, I must admit that postings on TOB are also a source of endless amusement for anyone inclined to think humanity has not progressed beyond the iron age.

Used to post, now just lurk.

I read there but don't post. Mostly I go for information and to laugh at some of the posts. I like the humour here.

No, I've been blocked or banned too many times, I may be too irreverent for them. I think they blocked me from ever getting a password reset so screw him or her, whatever that crazy Francisco moderator is. And the general self-censorship because of fear of being banned, that's crazy too.

And their SEARCH SUCKS. If it doesn't find one word you are searching for, you have to sit with your thumbs up your ass while you wait 20 seconds to avoid "FLOOD CONTROL." I could type 20 relevant searches in 20 seconds so I have a lot better things to do with my thumbs.
