And the solution couldn't be simpler. Fix all the dips, ruts and potholes in that section. I will take my pictures and solution to the Delegado.
Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
You might know the "Great Mufti" on tob has now enlightened everyone how his CRV has allowed him to outsmart the "Gigantic" tope on his street. He never misses a chance to piss off god and the rest of the world....He remains the undisputed #1 "A-Hole"..

Bob at the end of the street is the telephone pole. Its the last parking space that needs to be eliminated on that block. I know the pink house white poles exist because people park on the sidewalk and the house doors opens out. I lived in that house. Don't know anything about the poles on the house pictured. The Corner is the problem.

I was the original owner 1987-1998 of the house on the NW corner of Nicolas Bravo and 16 Sept...During the heaviest rains the water would come over the curbs and up over my lowest step..16 Sept.would always have some residual puddles, not as bad as it now, but you have to let the water run down Nicolas Bravo unimpeded to the lake..The damn dam will only serve to exacerbate any problems on 16 Sept.

Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
REALLY? That's the kind of puddles you have a problem with? Drive along the westbound carreterra (or especially try to walk along the side of the road) between Rancho del Oro and Los Sabinos after a good rain, then complain about your 'flooding'! Don't have any current photos, but I'll take some next time it rains, and submit them.

Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
Yes, there is definitely areas that require Simapa's "special attention" more than 16 de Septiembre.
Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
I went up to the plaza and spoke with Raphael and Chuni. They had obviously already heard about the problems with the topes. I showed them the pictures of how they were totally ineffective in stopping any water from pooling on the street after even a minor rain. They smiled, nodded and made a comment about Simapa. I suggested they jack hammer those topes into small pieces and then use those pieces to fill the ruts and potholes that are actually causing the problem. They laughed and said good idea. Whether they are going to do anything.....who knows however I have since been told that to get any action we need to contact Gloria Perales (gringo rep) at peralesgloriapg1.gp (at) gmail.com. For those of you concerned please send her a message.
Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
Here is the letter I sent Gloria (I have edited some of my personal info out of this post):
Hola Gloria, my name is Bob (deleted). I own the (deleted) in Ajijic and I also own the Inside Lakeside web forum. My place is located (deleted) of the new topes installed on Nicolas Bravo and Miguel Blanco. I understand these were installed by Simapa to redirect water from pooling on Septiembre in between these two streets. As I am sure you are aware these topes are too high and are causing damage to smaller vehicles that try to pass over them. More importantly these topes are totally ineffective in solving any water problem. I have attached 3 pictures that were taken after yesterday’s minor rainfall and as you can see the water is still pooling on that block of Septiembre and in fact the topes are causing it to pool even more. The only effective solution is to remove those topes, then fix the ruts and potholes in that section of street which are holding the rainwater and causing the problem. I met with Rafael and Chuni today and showed them the pictures and offered them the solution. I was later told to contact you. If you require any further action from me please let me know.
Thanks for your support.

Thanks for your efforts, Bob. I really appreciate it.
We've been taking a different route home since they installed those #$%%# topes. Galeana works, anyway.

Gloria said she needs my letter (above) translated into Spanish and taken to the mayors office in Chapala. Goggle (nor my spanish) would be accurate enough. Can someone do this? Either post here or send it to me in a PM. Gracias.

While not directly affected by the new Hoover Dam topes I am duly impressed with CBob's efforts on behalf of the community... He is deserving of a big Atta Boy!!

Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
Thanks rvan but it really isn't a lot of effort. Just learning the process to file a complaint is worth it. Apparently verbally complaining to the Delegado (or anyone) is useless. Gloria told me that to get any action a complaint must be in writing and presented to the mayors office in Chapala. It will be stamped and returned to Gloria. She will then present the letter to the head of the local Simapa office and demand a resolution. I guess we will find out how effective this is.

It is the only way for any chance of success.

Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
They took about 2 or 3 inches off the top of the one on Nicolas Bravo. I watched them do it. They didn't touch the one on Miguel Blanco. Is anyone still scrapping? My van never scrapped when it was first installed so I can't tell.

The one I was looking at was on 16 de Septiembre. Our FIT is off the the mechanic until tomorrow, so we can't test it.

Re: New tope in the village to watch out for
Yes that's the Nicolas Bravo one. The other one is primarily on Miguel Blanco. I have already told Gloria that they didn't do enough. Taking them out totally was the objective.

Agreed. It still looks like a bottom scraper.

Went over the one near N. Bravo this PM and didn't come close to scraping like it did before. So yes, it is definitely lower.
