Very sad to find out..............

The owners of the bakery / deli on Calon are very, very I'll with dengue fever (it is not contagious person to person). Let us keep them in our minds and hope for a fast recovery. Both are very nice people and contribute much to Ajijic and makes me very sad to know they are going through this bad time.

I am uncomfortable with people (no matter how well intentioned) posting others' personal and/or medical business. If the people in question asked the OP to let the community know, especially if there is a request for help, I assume that would be said.

I met another 4 people yesterday with Dengue..Dengue is really bad, the worst I have seen . The statistics do not sem to show that, but I have never met so many people with dengue..Hopefully everyone will pull through..

A friend of mine saw her Doctor this week and was told Dengue is endemic in Chapala, which probably means much the same for the rest of Lakeside. Use repellent everyone and be healthy.

Here we go.

The first go-around with Dengue is just miserable; the second can be fatal. That said, I have heard of numerous diagnoses being made in the area without confirmation by blood tests. The classic symptoms - especially the saddleback fever and the rash - are one thing but complaints of feeling tired and listless and having itchy skin giving rise to a Dengue diagnosis without confirmation by blood test is something else.

My neighbor go dengue and thought it was the flu, my husband got it and he was not able to get up from bed for 3 days, my cleaning lady´s husband go it and he could not  get out of bed for a few days..My husband also had a sore throat with it, did nt have he rash but his blood pressure was extremely low and the pain was awful, also no apetite, no strength and a fever that comes and go..every day is a little different.. a friend of mine got it and she had the rash and felt like she had a bad flu.. all above were confirmed by a blood test. My feeling is that there are way more cases than what we read  in the paper. The painter  who comes to my place is the person who warn me about it 3 weeks ago and he knew of may cases in his neighborhood and it is thnks to him I got my husband tested as I did not even think about dengue then,.

First line of defense cover up do not wear shorts or short sleeves and wear repellent.

Unfortunately there is another confirmed case of Dengue but this time the person also got Typhoid fever.
(a person many of us know) from the Ajijic Plaza area.

I'm in central Texas, Some towns are spraying like they used to with fogging machines. Depends on the city. Check the local news. If you see these trucks fogging.

GO INSIDE. Wait til the fog subsides. O and please don't shoot the guys in funny looking clothes taking water samples! They are checking for the bad mosquitos. No trespassing signs don't apply to them. Yes they will shoot your agressive dog and fine you!

There has been trucks fogging several times in Chapala, I'm not sure if their doing it in Ajijic.

Yes, they have been spraying in Ajijic too.

Anybody know what they are spraying us with?? Not paranoid just curious.
