Front door camera
Anybody have a wireless front door camera? How's it work? Where'd you find it? This relentless doorbell ringing finding out its just somebody wanting to wash my car is getting a little much? Should i answer the door in my underwear or suit up for a professional business call?

Check Steren which is across from Walmart. They have all sorts of systems. The only problem with the wireless is whether or not the signal will penetrate the cement and metal around your front door.

I like that David. The only problem I see is with all the technology built into the switch I would be worried that someone would steal it.

Yeah. It's a little fancy. But I like it. Ever seen anything cheapy at Walmart?

Living in Mexico 101
1. Remove all doorbells and hanging bells. Kids will torture you with them.
2. Anyone - instruct your gringo friends on this because Mexicans already know - who wants to 'knock' on your door/gate will do so by clanging on the gate with their keys or a stone. Soon you will know who it is by the clang.
3. ALWAYS peek out to see who it is first! If you don't want to see them, ignore it. They will leave.

Re: Front door camera
Good rules Trailrunner.
Mine's even simpler. No drop ins. If you don't phone me first and tell me that you're at the end of the street (and IF you are expected), I will not answer the door. The warning gives me time to get the dogs inside easily so I can answer the door in peace.

Re: Front door camera
There is another way: Just install a doorbell button that does not ring anything. Tell your friends to knock. Others will push the button and eventually give up......unless they are hoping you are really not home.
