Solar Hot Water
This is probably a stupid question but I seem to remember a warning. Something about tubes, either get the kind with tubes or don't get the kind with tubes. I don't want to make a mistake on this & know nothing about it. Is a 150 liter a decent size for 1 person with occasional guests?

Re: Solar Hot Water
I've had a tube system for 4 years trouble free.
I believe it was 160 liters. It looks after two of us and will provide 2 days of showers in Winter when the Sun disappears for a couple of days.
Great investment. Payback must be less than two years now what with the price of propane.

Re: Solar Hot Water
Glass tubes worked great for me until some local kids took target practice. Put them where they can't be seen if possible
Re: Solar Hot Water
What I thought I'd be getting is no longer available so I'll be getting a larger system than I thought but that's probably for the best.

E2 is NOT out of business! However the no longer sell solar hot water heaters. Their business is now focussed 100% on solar electric systems.

That's a relief. I still have 21 years left on my soar panel warranty.

Many Solar installers Lakeside have dropped out of the hot water business as the margins are not high enough for them. Let them know you are not happy and you expect them to live up to their sales pitch. There is a need Lakeside for an installer for all solar installations. The one who offers all solar products will take over.
We are grossly overcharged for solar installations here.
Warranties are only as good as the installers stay in business.

Re: Solar Hot Water
In support of those installing solar applications....
The cost of solar installations is market driven... Many people do not need panels and keep their usage down...
We purchased a home that came with a $150 USD a month electric bill... We installed solar panels and are now enjoying a 100 peso/month bill... Payback is estimated at 3 1/2 to 4 years... notably better than NOB...
