Son of Ajijic Delegado Passes away.

The son of Ajijic's Delegado passed away on May 12th. He lost the battle against Leukemia. He was buried in Ajijic.

He was a very nice boy. I understand it only took 3 weeks for him to lose his battle after diagnosis. RIP

It was the funeral tent north of LCS. Very sad. Family was very upset when I talked to them a few days ago.

Chuma Medina's son died of leukemia the week before. The Medina family is well known, and Chuma was our Ajijic Delegado at one time.

Oh man! What is it with leukemia here? Same story with my landlord, they've lost 2 kids to leukemia. Plumber told me they belong to some "weird religion" and didn't have the kids treated. I dunno.

There is a poster on this webboard who is treating his wife who has leukemia with CO - and they are winning the battle!

With a cure rate of 90%, it makes you wonder about the claimed, "World Class" medicine practiced in Mexico. but there are places where I could have been immunized against cancer.

While I believe the private system here is indeed world class I don't believe the same has or could be said about the IMSS or Seguro Poplar systems here.

Jose's Mother has been my housekeeper for 11 years. I first met Jose when he was 7 or 8 years old. Really cute kid. When seeing her and Rafael Thursday I will never forget the pain and loss in their faces. How does one mend when loosing a child.

I don't think you do. I can't even imagine.

I often see Mario and Maria, who own the restaurant in SAT and whose son and only child was murdered in that cartel violence here a few years ago around Mother's Day, and while time has softened their faces a bit, and Maria's smile is a little brighter now, they both still have haunted eyes and heavy hearts.

I wish this family peace, somehow.

I will never forget Mario face after it happened...

I hope it's just coincidental about the leukemia & not something in the local environment. It's especially sad when the victims are so young.
