I agree. Me too.

Well you haven't missed much except, bennie's idiocy, MC's wisdom, and ezpz's whining about noise. (someone's got to do it, LOL...read the other board). Then the usual....why the sirens? where's the fire/smoke coming from? and when will the rainy season start?
The latest insanity is over the quality of Quaker oats as if it would make a difference to a bunch of septuagenarians.
Education in a thimble.
And speaking of whining and complaining, read your own post. Yours is clearly a case of the pot calling the kettle black. I don’t know who you think anointed you as judge, jury and executioner, but there is no doubt that you bear an uncanny resemblance to Roy Bean. Why don’t you hang up your rope and try a little respect for a change.[/quote

Sorry, I touched a nerve....we all have different thresholds.
I'll try to straighten up and be serious while not behind your back.
They attack something, I attack them, you attack me, and on it goes. Now, do I have to throw out my new box of Quaker Oats?
Only the bennie knows!!!
Roy Bean???....I've been called a lot of names, but that is a first. !Felicidades!

Richard Nixon was a Quaker and his Quaker ancestors came from a small town in County Kildare, which I'm reminded of every time I drive through it by a sign board when approaching.
Ummm! BTW, aren't you both native Californians?
In Ireland, we eat oats and drink barley. I don't know which one will get you a visit from the "grim REAPER" first.

Re: The other Board
I have a small collection of old advertisements that pretty much show that anything goes if you have a product to sell, so that old saying "buyer beware" remains firmly in place.
Here's a small selection that includes douches touted for birth control, feminine hygiene, teething solution for babies, etc etc. These are both humorous and shocking by today's standards, but one day today's adverts will be viewed the same as these.

My spouse is a native Californian from Carmel. I was born in Chicago, but my father has the good sense to pack us off to California when I was but a wee thing. Or, as he put it: "Why be poor in a lousy climate?"
I kind of figure the oats will slow down the Reaper and that barley....depends on the ratio or oats to barley, eh?

My 2nd great grandmother lived to be 104 and swore it was because she had a toddy of good Irish Whiskey every day. So there you have it.
