Guadalajara Spanish Immersion Schools Empty Guadalajara Spanish Immersion Schools

Hello, I am interested in hearing about first hand experience anyone has had with Spanish Immersion Schools in Guadalajara.  I'd be entering at an intermediate level, reading/writing skill slightly ahead of the conversational piece.

GLC and IMAC seem to be the big two.   But I'm certainly willing to hear about experiences with other schools.

Thank you.

The Warren Hardy courses are very good. I don't know whether there are any in Guadalajara, but the Lake Chapala Society in Ajijic periodically has "Warren Hardy" classes at several levels from Hardy-trained teachers and using his books and teaching aids. They last several weeks.

If I ask GLC how good they are - what do think they are gonna say?  Of course they will say, "we're great!"  On their website, of course all the reviews are glowing.

A negative of GLC is its location.  The hotels near to the school in Tlaquepaque in general are not bargains - except if you forego air conditioning - and in Guad, you want air con April through October (I certainly do).

IMAC, its central, there are plenty of hotels within 10 blocks, and the rates at many are generally reasonable for air con equipped rooms.  And I must say I like the central area.

All the above said I am not going to select a school entirely based on the nearby accommodations.

My good friends Eric and Karen went to IMAC and really enjoyed it, including being in a great downtown location. It was 6 years ago, but they were very pleased. Here is a blog post they wrote about it: http://trans-americas.com/blog/2010/02/spanish-school/
