Re: US NetFlix access
Here is a supposed workaround that I haven't tried yet. I'd love to know how well it works for anyone using it. http://www.howtogeek.com/239616/how-to-watch-netflix-hulu-and-more-through-a-vpn-without-being-blocked/

Thanks very much for that reference. Today, my much more computer literate spouse sent his request in for the "pay extra" feature with the reasons for wanting it (hearing impairment) and they replied that they were processing it. We have tried to be content with Mexican Netflix, but the choices for English subtitled material are very limited. I suspect they assume that if a program IS in English, there is no need for subtitles in English. Logical, up to a point. Understanding those Brits can be challenging, to say the least, especially when you're nearly deaf and hearing aids have a long way to go towards perfection.
I will report on the result if and when it is of any use to the rest of us.

You're welcome. After I posted it I discovered it was very complicated so I didn't even try it. What is the pay extra feature?

I'll let you know if I figure it out, or my spouse does. It does sound complicated. My best guess is that it was pretty easy for Netflix to dump a bunch of people who were coming from the same "location", but if you were the ONLY person in a "location", it might be hard to find you. Just guessing.

Yes I never thought of that. Still wondering about the pay extra thing. What does it pay for and how much is it?

Re: US NetFlix access
Hello all, I am back in the US and just bought a Roku TV. Before I got it unboxed I learned that when I go back to Mexico, US Roku won't work! But I then discovered what sounds like a great workaround called Unlocator. It is a DNS, similar to a VPN but better. I wrote to the company; they told me it won't work with the Roku TV but it will work with a Roku box or stick, and probably similar device such as an Amazon stick. Here is a site that rates the various DNS sites. http://www.bestsmartdns.net/ I hope one of these works for you! Also, Gringal, Roku has optional closed captioning. There is also something called Plex, which really confuses me but may work too. https://plex.tv/ad/getstarted
