Another vote for politics. Why don't the people who are so anti-political just ignore those posts, instead of trying to censor the people who want to discuss them.
Another plus this cycle is that johninajijic is no longer here with all his name calling that kept things stirred up. As viajero said, it's been pretty civil.

Another vote for having a Politics section open. I would probably rarely read it but it might be fun to peruse from time to time. If people don't want to read it they don't have to. Pretty simple, me thinks.

It would be nice to not insult each other, but it is the Octagon after all. We can self-regulate but not dictate terms of use to each other.
We know that the political forum got shut down because it got drooling, knuckle-dragging insane and stupid. If it heads back down that path those who do not like it can stop participating. The knuckle draggers can continue to wrestle in the mud with each other until CBob gets tired of it again and shuts it back down. Basta
