Who gets a Christmas bonus?

I understand maids are given a cash bonus at Christmas time but who else traditionally gets a cash gift at this time?

I've been told:
- Gardener
- Pool person
- Water delivery
- Garbage

In general, how much is customary?

Only those that you employ and pay directly on a continuing basis, such as your regular maid or gardener, cook, caregiver, etc.
Not services that you call occasionally or individuals who work as independent contractors or are employees of other businesses.

Who gets a Christmas bonus.....the transitos if you drive around here this month.

So it appears the water guy, who I tip regularly, doesn't expect something extra at Christmas but no problem if I do.

We give him a bigger tip for Christmas and he is very happy..

I also provide extra propina to my hair cutter, pedicurist, and the locker room attendants at my golf club.

All employed persons (by others) no matter where they work receive an AGUINALDO dictated federal law. Just like RVGRINGO mentioned. If someone is self employed and does jobs for you on a REGULAR basis, then it would be ok to give them something. The aguinaldo is suppose to be at least 15 days of salary paid by the 20th of December. Unless the employee has worked for less than a year, then it's prorated.

The Aguinaldo is the amount they would have earned during 15 day (two weeks), not 15 days of pay.
