The burgers at 60's in Paradise are still the best around. No one has come close yet IMO although I see The Early Bird (former 60's owner) is now serving burgers. The burger wars have begun.........

I've had both & prefer the ones at Early Bird unless they've changed in the last couple of weeks but both serve good burgers.

Early Bird is having a special tomorrow consisting of a burger with sauteed mushrooms or onions, fries & a milk shake. Don't know the price but his specials always have good prices & the shakes are wonderful! Had a corned beef sandwich today.

I've eaten at 60's in paradise and the burgers were okay, but I prefer the Early Bird's.
For another good burger, Roberto's lunch burger is my personal favorite: he uses really good meat and has some nice side dishes. I like a less greasy burger, so that one suits best.

For a humungous burger, either beef or chicken, loaded with cheese and bacon, try Tony's on the same strip as Superlake. I get it with a baked potato instead of fries......around 59 pesos.

Rick doesn't own 60's in Paradise any more. He sold it and now owns Early Bird Cafe which originally was only open for breakfast but is now open for lunch. The debate is which place has the best burger.

Bob, Although Rick says his burgers are better than they used to be, I had to have the Ruben - best corned beef I've had. I may just have it again next time. the burger will have to wait.

Sorry I had no idea the names of the new owners. He and his wife are delightful. That's a long way to commute to work in your retirement! So when you say Rick's burger is the best no one will know which burger it is. Very Happy

Yes, I know Laurie Jensen is the new owner of 60's in Paradise. I addition to the great burgers and shakes she has a selection of hand made jewelry and pottery in the front room of the restaurant.

Is she a pretty blond who used to go with a real butthead of a guitar player? If it is...she makes some really pretty things.

Yes, that's Lauri. Not with the butt head anymore. And yes, she makes beautiful jewelry and I'm afraid she will be so busy running the restaurant that she won't have time to make jewelry.

I met her quite some time ago....couldn't quite figure out what she was doing with him! She was so sweet and he was an arrogant jerk! I think he was quite a bit older too. Not being with him is a definite step up. Good for her! Beer

I met the new owner this week in Soriana. A young blonde, 40 something, that has been here 13 years. Very nice, will have to try it!

I had lunch there a few weeks ago and it was great. Same 60's menu plus a selection of not so fattening salads and other things. I love the bad stuff but am glad to see she expanded the menu and kept the 60's flavor of the place.

And yes she is a really nice person too!

I heard she married a local man fairly recently. Not the guitar player.

She's serving some specially "virtuous" low fat sirloin burgers. My husband had one and declared it delicious.
