I need a little education and haven't found the info with Google, at least in English.
Edgar Valdez Villarreal, aka "La Barbie" was arrested in 2010. What was he officially charged with by the MX authorities? Did he have his day in a Mexican Court? What was he finally convicted with in Mexico?
Or was he being held pending the extradition hearing?

I am aware of the extraditions. My question is was he every tried and convicted in a Mexican court? If so what was his sentence?

There's an article in the NY Times today regarding the extradititions.

Maybe he'll find the conditions at Florence more to his liking...
