Do I have his name right? Does anyone know if, when and/or where he might be performing Lakiside? TIA

Did he used to play with Ricardo Cedro at his restaurant across from Nuevo Posada?

Re: Jimmy Bartow...trumpet player
Was just wondering. It has been 10 years since I was last lakeside, and a young American trumpet player was playing at a restaurant across from Nuevo Posada, which I understand is now closed. The owner played guitar and sang. I believe the owner's name was Ricardo Cedro and that he closed his restaurant two or three years ago and moved to the beach somewhere. Great horn. I'll be visiting again end of December and first of January. Would like to hear him again.

The restaurant was called La Tasca and the restaurant owner and guitarist extraordinaire was (still is) Roberto Cerda. He closed La Tasca and moved to Manzanillo where he runs a small guest house / resort named Casa Del Artistas. Roberto used to play at Las Hadas, the Hotel made famous in the movie 10, for twelve years.
Jimmy Barto, the trumpet player who played with Roberto at La Tasca, can still be seen around Lakeside at various venues. He is an incredible talent.

Re: Jimmy Bartow...trumpet player
Thanks for the info and spelling correction. I'll look forward to hearing that trumpet. It is an instrument of which I am not really fond, but Jimmy has a way with it that is incredible. I was surprised by the John Lennon look when I say Jimmy at Roberto's in January. When I heard him before, he was a "young" man. He still is compared to me, at my age EVERYONE is young.
I am amazed that so many of the Hispanics I meet in my current location are from Jalisco. All have heard of Lakeside, but many have never had the privilege of visiting. One young woman is taking vacation this summer and plans to let me show her Ajijic. I have warned her that the streets roll up by 9:00 p.m.

After 9:00pm you can check out El Cameleon, El BarCo or The Iron Horse.
Re: Jimmy Bartow...trumpet player
I remember La Tasca, good place for great music. Roberto has a CD, I have it, and it's wonderful. Maybe there are copies still around???

Re: Jimmy Bartow...trumpet player
Yeah. I have not found a replacement for La Tasca. It was a great place for a single lady to have dinner and listen to music comfortably. I, too, have Roberto's CD. He is a great classical guitarist. Miss La Tasca.
Any ideas for a replacement place for me Trailrunner? I'm lon-n-n-n-g of tooth, so like to feel comfy in my environment.
