JUST CHILLIN AT LCS? GONE??

I went over to LCS around 12:30 today and the coffee shop sign said "Closed until further notice". I took a closer look and it's been cleared out completely.
They were serving last Saturday at the big party.

Anyone know what happened?

I doubt many people on this board patronize that coffee shop, I know haven't. Maybe the operators just want to concentrate on their main location.  If it makes a difference, maybe someone at the LCS office could tell you.
Yes Lady O., the main location is definitely open, or was last week.

Definitely closed for good. Equipment cleared out.
I imagine it's hard for a small business to make enough money there to justify the time and expense involved. Happily, they're doing well enough at their main location that they don't need the LCS one.
Let's hope somebody volunteers to replace them with at least coffee and few snacks. There are plenty of good lunch purveyors within a block or so.

I was talking with Rene last Thursday about the LCS location.
Noel had returned to the main location, and I was curious about who was running the LCS spot.
She told me that it was closed temporarily last Thursday, and that she would be going there on Monday to start running the place.
I guess that when she got there, she decided that the low season trade at both places did not justify having both open.
Just a guess.

Sounds like a very good guess.

Just Chillin walked out is the truth. I don't know why or whats behind it and don't care at this point. See ya folks at Black and White on the plaza which is where most of us are until coffee returns to LCS.

Restaurants open and close all the time around here, and this one was not even that popular or well known.   Why is this such a big deal?....because it was Just Chillin?

The fact is that nobody on the outside knows what transpired.  LCS said, in their bulletin, that Chillin wanted out because they couldn't handle the load.  Chillin said, on TOB, that they were disrespected.  Basically, "he said she said".

Later in the thread, Chillin said it was profitable.    

A day or so ago, I saw a big coffee urn outside the restaurant space.  Don't know how it's being handled, but it beats a hike to the Plaza if you're at LCS for something else.

There were no eyewitnesses to the conflict and no helpful soul has a video of it. Anyone actually involved in the thing necessarily would be biased in telling the story. So: we don't KNOW. Didn't before and don't now.

It IS possible that one party was in the wrong and the other in the right. I suggest we give up trying to figure that one out.

I apologize for doubting if you were there and saw it all. The reason I'm not passing judgement on either side is that I've heard at least three versions of the event from volunteers at LCS, and none of them were the same. Also, none of them were eyewitnesses and they were all biased one way or the other.

gringal, Im laughing out load and you will probably get angry with me for saying this about your post giving this sage advice, but you remind me of someone  giving advice to a bunch of people in a parking lot on how to fix a flat tire after you punctured it with an icepick.

There is seldom a dispute where one party is blameless. From the tone and words used by the Just Chillin spokesperson on TOB I find it impossible to believe they played no role in the debacle at LCS. Being familiar with Terry at LCS I also have no problem with accepting that his behavior played a part. However, Just Chillin is the one who decided to blow this up in public. I have zero sympathy for them.

Lady O and Slainte:  Me, I'm not mad at anyone.  I don't know the Chillin people and have found that the food in their main restaurant, although tasty, doesn't agree with my belly and as I don't really need a hug,  I'm not a buddy of the owners.    As for LCS management, I can't say that diplomacy is their strongest suit.  So, no particular sympathy for either side.    What I said was that it is POSSIBLE that one or the other blameless.  What I imagine is that it started off as things usually due with no ill intent on either side, but that it escalated into a kerfuffle of "you're fired"  and "I quit".  However, it was the statement in the LCS newsletter that was the opening salvo which Chillin responded to, not vice versa.

May they all do penance for their sins, if any, and may SOMEBODY take over the space soon and serve a cuppa and a treat.
The folks who hang out there have been let down.

His wife is one fine cook.  Their juices start with fresh oranges and the fries with a potato.   If anyone hasn't had their "California Omelet", they've missed out on one fine dish.  Lots of good traditional Mexican dishes, too. They seem to have their hands full with the little restaurant, though.
