I know that not everyone is on board with the "Obamacare" plan, but I think it's a good start on the "happiness" improvement front.
Most definitely!!

Re: HAPPINESS IS....
so...back to topic?? I think the happiness quiz is set up like an IQ test, designed for a certain demographic that ignores the relevant questions in others. Can anyone here even imagine the usually mild mannered Mexicans we all know being asked by an authority figure if they were happy? Of course they all say yes. Much less trouble for them that way.
Its that old sayin' "its better to tell a blatant lie to make the other person happy, rather than tell the truth and risk upsetting them". Like that young chap who called me señorita today. Bless him.

Good point, but obviously some unhappy folks, like the Italians, didn't mind telling it like it is. And then, there's Afghanistan, at the very bottom..........really pitching a beetch.

I never met an Italian who had any problem whatsoever expressing thoughts, opinions, feelings or anything else. ;)

Your Start Page can be anything you configure. It's not hard wired
In the late 90's Yahoo was just about all there was. There's a reason to have accounts with Microsoft, Google and Yahoo

I do happen to know that, and I don't much care. They all have the corporate mindset: "use the users". But then, I'm cranky.
Now, can we change the subject to the subject, perhaps?

I guess you are ..... so what does Happiness have to do with some survey about countries to live

The original thread was about a survey which was the result of interviewing a large number of subjects in many countries about how happy they are, based on several factors.
However, this thread seems to be about telling people what's what about their home page and email choices, and I am crankily abandoning this thread since it's going nowhere.

That's nice....since some people don't think Mexicans can answer the survey questions honestly, anyway.
Whereas, the yahoo detractors seem to be the pillars of virtue and truth.
Solid information vs. a speculative, erratic, misleading, survey report.
Makes a person want to
