Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
Friggin idiots. You have to wonder what they hope to achieve by this other than to get the public to hate them even more.
Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
You have to wonder how the government accepts the status quo. They prefer to benefit personally from the drug trade while the rest of the country is deeply affected.

Many here benefit from the drug trade. Dont ask dont tell, look the other way. The government is made up of the people and they prefer to profit from the destruction of their country not thinking about the future of their children and grandchildren.

Well since these are democratically elected officials it would seem it is the public that is accepting the status quo. No?

They are not the sharpest knives in the drawer and the politicians and bureaucrats even less at times.

They accept the status quo because the quality of candidates is not that good, no matter which party controls the government.
The best qualified people hardly ever run for office, so you get lower tiered intelligence, ethical individuals, no matter the party......most of the time.

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
Nice.
So if the narcos burn my vehicle does insurance consider it an "act of civil unrest" (not covered) OR a criminal act of "vandalism" (covered)?

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
Probably vandalism as the government denies most large scale crime or unrest as everyone is happy with Jalisco´s Bienestar

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
Word is that there was an operation yesterday and they got a capo in his home in Colinas de San Javier. I saw federal police convoys yesterday, too many to be routine or passing through. Rumored to be Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, leader of the New Generation Cartel of Jalisco

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
There are very bright people running the government (doesn't necessarily mean elected officials) and very bright people running the cartels. Neither gives a shit abouit public opinion, no winning the hearts and minds here. The narcos are terrorists whose goal is the subjection of the populace. The only thing the oligarchy cares about is maintaining their way of life.
It is time for the people to start fighting back. A few more politicians or the ultra rich and their families having their heads roll might be a good start. No immunity. They become fair game just like the little guy.

Hmmmm........I would think the ultra rich are much better targets for kidnapping and extortion than the "little guy". Aren't they already fair game?
Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
The rich may be in on it, how do you think they got so rich? also they are armed. Remember at my old high rise my neighbor who always had 3 armed guards out front?

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
The narcos and their friends need to be dealt with extreme prejudice. This won't likely happen until Mexico invites someone else's forces to come in and assist. They need to deal with them in the same manner that they dealt with Escobar and his friends in Columbia. They need to make it very dangerous to be a narco or be anywhere near a narco.
Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
The only problem with private security forces is they decide to become their own criminal group, that happened in Colombia. At least Colombia asked for help, Mexico is too scared of a gringo invasion or control so their pride keeps them from getting help as they cannot control their own country, nor do the guys at the top want an entity they cannot control looking over them or arresting them or the ones that pay them to look the other way.

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
Well when I said "someone else's forces" I was inferring the US Special forces or Black Ops not "Spencer & Bob's Security Service".........jajaja.
Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
Never will happen. Mexicans went crazy when they changed the law to allow US agents to be armed at their posts or when guarding dignitaries, prior they were sitting ducks only with armored Suburbans. The heads of state may fear they lose their heads if we come in to clean house.
I still like Spencer and Bobs Security Service although 2 against 1,000,000 it would be a lifetime work cleaning up the mess. Helping Mexico and not taking over would be good but then again it may be too tempting to not leave although the social reform costs would be staggering.

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
In another thread we discussed the probability that the government would strike back against the CJNG for the recent killings of police. Perhaps that is what is happening here...and perhaps the blockades are a reaction to the government's actions against the cartel. Here's an update from Informador...
El Ejército confirma operativo en Jalisco

Re: Narcobloqueos, May 1, 2015 roadblocks
I just heard from friend in PV that they have blown up banks, Pemex's and many buses, etc. there. Apparently they are imposing martial law there (or so he just told me).

Extreme prejudice? You watch too many Hollywood movies. Drug violence is still a very common thing in Colombia. Cocaine is still being shipped north in even larger quantities. Drugs need to be legalized.
