Thank You Dr Juan Pablo!!!
Two weeks ago Richard wasn't feeling well and went to Dr. Juan Pablo.
The initial diagnosis was gallstones but subsequent testing indicated
it may be more serious. Friday when Dr JP said we needed a liver
biopsy we decided to go north to the VA where my husband normally gets
medical care. (We pay minor medical out of pocket in Mexico but major
is 'free' for my husband at the VA - travel expenses factor into the
equation.)
We left Saturday morning to Cincinnati as Richard's family lives nearby
and this was looking serious. We arrived at the Cincinnati Veterans Hospital
emergency room Saturday afternoon. Richard spent Saturday afternoon and
Sunday being poked and prodded and asked innumerable questions.
We offered the prognosis, Cat Scan and X-ray film and blood work we'd
had done in Chapala and Guadalajara to anyone who might want to use it.
The doctors initially said they preferred to do their own tests and
noted that the information was inferior coming from Mexico. The
doctors finally agreed to look at it late Sunday night and they were
very impressed with all the work the good doctor had done. They're
using it as one of the main diagnostics tools for Richard! They
commented that they would have done exactly what Dr Juan Pablo had. We
explained that we had the best doctor in Mexico and WE were not
surprised at the quality of care we received.
We would have been very comfortable with having the biopsy done and
receiving any subsequent care or treatment in Mexico because of our
confidence in our doctor. Economics was our sole reason for going
north.
Thank you Dr Juan Pablo again for all your knowledge, care and compassion.

Yes, we are most fortunate to have him as our doctor. His training is excellent (western) balanced by an holistic view on health.

Re: Thank You Dr Juan Pablo!!!
Yes, I second, third and fourth Dr. Juan Pablo. I was having some chronic problems and saw various doctors in Ajijic - living in San Juan Cosala the only doctors knew about were in Ajijic or San Antonio. thanks to this board I fund out about Dr. Juan Pablo.
I won't go into details, but he was so thorough that he discovered several "time bombs" that could have become real issues. For those who want a good doctor this is his address:
Office address is 141-A Calle Guerrero, is in the corner with López Cotilla, one block after the American Legion in Chapala.
phone is 765 54 77, and my cell phone is (045) 333 141 33 64.
The office hours are from 10:00am to 6:00 pm. You need to call first for an appointment because some days he is in Guadalajara with patients having surgery.
And he answers emails! On my first visit he asked me a lot of questions, and I had a ton of test reports with me. Later I received a complete write up of my health history in Spanish via email that I can share with my "specialist doctors". That never happened before.
