Anyone know what's going on with the muni water supply in SAT?

Friends in SAT have had shortages over the past few weeks. I have not heard of anything recently though.

A couple of weeks ago the pump had to be replaced and we had no water for a couple of days. Thursday morning when my gardener was here the pressure was almost nonexistent. Don't know today; will check tomorrow.

Passed by the SAT water pump yesterday. A crew of guys were climbing over and around it and in deep conversation. Not a good sign.

There are several wells which serve SAT, if it is not being diverted elsewhere.

I heard it's the pump, good that they're working on it. Had virtually no pressure for 2 days but tonight it's good! Maybe they fixed it.

The main pump failed late Friday, the parts have to come from Guad tomorrow and it's unlikely Simapa will be pumping any water before late Monday or sometime Tuesday.

Thanks, all, what you're saying coincides with what I'm hearing in the village. Had good pressure yesterday morning and normal shower last night. Thanks for the info, conejorapido.

The latest, as of 5 minutes ago, is that Simapa is still experiencing difficulties with the main pump for SAT and it may not be fixed until Wednesday.

I meant that I have no water from the street. I have an aljibe and tinaco but no water for my lotes next door. If my garden plants droop too much I will have to run a hose from the tinaco to the lotes. I have to do that for much of April and May anyway because the pressure is sooo low. But then my power bill is enormous for the pump from the aljibe to the tinaco. I must be toward the end of the line.

Trailrunner--you are invited to come down to my house to scrape the stinky off. My aljibe is enormous. It's the lotes that don't have water.

Latest report: Main pump still not fixed. Simapa is saying possibly by tomorrow night but more likely Friday.

Oh man, 3 days no shower. Jose Luis, the iron worker, told me yesterday when they got the part from Guad a few days ago and installed it, they turned the water on and the whole thing blew up. He thought it would be working today. . .

This is having a big impact on the car washers as well as the various businesses which rely on water. I am surprised some of them are open, such as the restaurants and beauty shop. What a shame.

Well, water did flow last night at our community for 40 minutes then stopped. Now Simapa is saying there is an electrical problem which has to be fixed before they start pumping again. Who knows when!!
