Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
For a few months now I have not been able to connect to the on-line service at Bancomer, prior to that no problem. When connecting I get the message "Secure Connection Failed
An error occurred during a connection to www.bancomer.com. SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible length. (Error code: ssl_error_rx_record_too_long)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."
I contacted the 800 number for Bancomer and they suggested using another search engine, I tried Google Chrome, FireFox, and Internet Explorer, and they all gave me the same message as above. Tried from different computers within our house and got the same message. Had a friend go on-line to the Bancomer site from his home, he does not use TelMex for his provider, and he had no problems at all. Looks to be something not correct with our modem, our TelMex connection, or a setting on our computers.
Suggestions anyone?

Re: Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
The same thing happened to me so I went to Bancomer in Ajijic. The rep told me I had not used the card in a while (can't remember the time frame) and that the card had become inactive and would need to be reinstated. That solved the problem. However months later the card had expired and I did get a new card. You have to visit the bank to do this. They said it would take the same ATM password which it did but I have not been able to get into Bancomer.com.

I can not get onto the Bancomer website to try anything, can not even get to the point of being able to enter any data.
Simply from my house we can not get the Bancomer website to come up on our computers, I am sure if we could we could get into our accounts..

It is Bancomer. For two months I have been unable to pay employer IMSS taxes (SIPARE) using their site, had to pay at the bank. Got same error as you but fixed it using a different browser.

Re: Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
Just today the wife took the tablet to a friends place and everything worked fine from there. It has to be a problem with our modem which is from TelMex and only ten months ago it was installed, and seems to work fine. Could it require a specific setting or set-up to get access to Bancomer's secure site? Is there a chance that the Bancomer site has been blocked from our modem in some way?

I am using a telmex modem, and have accessed using that link from Canada and the US on several ISP's.
I am using firefox, if that helps.

Re: Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
When my wife was in Canada she could access Bancomer's site no problem, from a friends house here no problem, from our home here we can not. Has to be something to do with our modem settings or our modem itself.

Re: Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
OK. so you used the same computer at a friends place locally and it worked. Correct?
I re-read your originally post, and this is a problem with the secure sockets layer and "usually" is a server configuration problem.
I suggest that you move this thread to the tech section.
You might get more responses there. I am a techie, but I retired 16 years ago.
Good luck.

Re: Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
You may want to return the modem to Telmex. We have had to do that several times in the past few years. No problem - they always just give us a new modem, no questions asked. Hope that helps.

Computer Guy came by today and got it all fixed up pretty quick. Couldn't tell you what he did but all is working now. Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Re: Trouble connecting to Bancomer on-line
I log into Bancomer all the time. They upgraded their website a few months back and the links changed. Maybe you just need to update your link? Here's what I use:
https://www.bancomer.com/index.jsp
Maybe it is something more complicated, but this works for me.
