his sausage was dreck.i'm surprised that anyone that had access to good sausage in regina could say that the phoney sausage maker's stough was good. i have tried mexican blood sausage here and never again-it is revolting and i really like the real german or polish thing. i can't remember where i got it fortunately. soriana has a good german style rohst[sp?] wurst. and wally has an excellent sausage similar to bratwurst both made right here in mexico.

Any British delis in Guad ? Needs to be made from the blood of FRESHLY slaughtered hogs - so good luck. Cozy up to a pig raiser ? I love blood sausage.

What about the Czechs (sausage makers) across the side street just north of Plaza del Sol. They cater whole cooked lechon this time of year.  I think their name is Slovensko, or something like it....just a few doors west of KFC.

Being prejudiced...the best is black pudding from County Cork, Ireland.....along with some rashers, bangers, fried tomatoes, mushrooms, eggs, beans, soda bread with black currant jam and Barry's tea.
Now that's a real breakfast....and only in my dreams around here.  lol!

You could probably get fresh pork blood at the Chapala Municipal Slaughterhouse, across from Soriana's, on the road that runs to the lake. Bring a sterilized plastic tub, with a lid on it and probably 50 pesos. Make sure you explain what it is for - gringos have been suspected of witchcraft and satanic rituals!

They slaughter on Saturdays - but better to check first. By the way - better not to watch.

There's a whole lot more to black pudding than just a bucket pig's blood.  Some of the recipes are harder to obtain than CIA documents.

Two years ago the german deli had blood sausage at this timeofyear. They are on the side streets near the older Costco. I can find it but can't tell how to. Maybe someone here knows. It's worth knowing where that is because they have some great food and store items.

I was there a couple of years ago. I was told that they get their sausages from Mexico city. It's off of a side from Patria. I did have a card from them but can't find it.

Years ago we stopped at an big outdoor place on the way to Tapala--the specialty was blood pudding. I can't remember what they called it but it seemed to be the local specialty.

When I think of blood sausage, I think of Spain. Might check with the owners at Meson Don Quixote to see if they have any ideas. Although the husband is Spanish, his wife is from this area.
