Hwy 15 Nogales

Crossing into Mexico Via Nogales Thursday morning Oct 23/14 on my way to Lakeside. Has anyone driven this hwy in to past couple of days and if so were there any problems.

I would suggest that you cross at the Mariposa crossing (truck route) which is exit #4 as you approach the border. It saves considerable time as it avoids going into Nogales.

We came down about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Around Ciudad Obregón, the Yaqui were implementing a blockade to protest something. They appeared to be holding up trucks but not passenger cars. (At least that is how we interpreted it after re-reading some posts here and on TOB.) There were only about 8 to 10 trucks in either direction when we got there. We were through it so fast we didn't get what was going on until reading about it that night. They had masks, probably not to protect themselves from the dust, although we weren't sure. ;)

Here is an example news story. Also try searches such as this. I think some blockades have lasted 24 hrs in the past. What a pain that would be!
