When my step-father comes down in November he wants to get some new dentures. Can anyone give a good recommendation?

I got a perfect plate made a few years ago, with which I haven't had any problems, by Dra. Martha Medina Corona. Her office is very close to you just west of the corner of Constitution and Marcos Castellanos on the mountain side of the street.
It's an upper plate, always comfortable, never hurts, never have to use dental adhesive.
Just one opinion and maybe just lucky.
The only problem I have is......with biting nails.... Very Happy

They fit so good, I can't get them out. Don't know what I'll do when I have to get a new plate as that dentist and most of the others around here don't know how to do extractions on plates. I think they need a comealong or something similar.

i had 2 done by maria lourdes and they were great and only about 3000p+/- including everything. BUT her other types of work have deteriorated so we now go to barragan for everything. he recently did 2 molar extractions[one on each side, upper] and had a 2 tooth removable bridge made to replace them. a more complex piece of hardware than a denture. i forgot what i paid . there was also a root canal and metal crown involve in the whole routine.

I'd also be interested in hearing recommendations on dentures, hubby needs one.
Our dentist is Dr. Barragon in Mirasol.
He quoted 12,000 for a whole upper denture which I find expensive.
Hubby needs 3 extractions and I'm not sure if that price included the extractions or not but still, it seems like a lot of money.

I had an upper premolar extraction performed by Dr. Eloy Barragan. It took almost 50 minutes for the procedure, due to the tooth being fractured, and the cost was $500 MXN. After the tissues healed, he prepared the adjoining teeth for a bridge, took an impression, created the temporary bridge, and made sure that it was a perfect fit. That was a two-hour procedure, half of that time spent in his lab, making the temporary.

My new bridge, made in an outside lab, will be ready in about two weeks. I'm sure that Dr. Eloy will take whatever time is necessary to make sure that my permanent bridge will fit as well as the temporary.

The cost for the two-hour appointment, all of his painless and painstaking work, the outside lab's construction of my permanent bridge, and my next appointment will be $10,000 MXN ($741.26 US at todays exchange). When I called my Wisconsin dentist to tell him what happened, he said that his bill would have been around $3,500 US for the bridge, and another $400-500 for the extraction.

I think that you are getting a good deal, eagles.
