Who Died, and Another Question or Two

Yesterday afternoon, there was a huge funeral in Ajijic. Who died, and where is such news published?

Where is the local cemetery?

Cemetery is in West Ajijic just south of Highway.

I happened to be in the plaza yesterday when the funeral procession exited the church and followed the casket to the cemetery. I wondered the same thing. That was a lot of people.

Did they walk all the way?

I meant to ask if they carried the casket the distance.

Yes and yes. Well, the casket was carried out of the plaza and down Hidalgo street. There was a funeral limo following behind the on-foot procession. Beyond that point I don't know.

Its a long ways to carry a casket from the church to the graveyard in West Ajijic. Most folks take one last ride in a hearse from the church. I am sure exceptions exist but most of the dead ride one last time.
