Attorney Scams of the Week June 16, 2014
2 news scams of the week, both involve real Mexican attorneys, one is where the attorney offers to sell the clients home for a 15% commission (double what a qualified Realtor would charge) and got the client to agree to it and then made them sign a form in Spanish which was a promissory note and when the client left to go up north, the attorney seized the home saying there was no payment on the promissory note.
Another Ajijic area attorney is trying to get realtors to do a low ball price opinion on a property while saying there are 15 years of unpaid home owners due so they can buy the property themselves at 40% of its real value, scamming the heirs. (There is a 2 year statute of limitations on back homeowner dues). So if you are a realtor and do this, and the heirs want to reclaim the stolen funds, you will be sued too for fraud and if a foreigner deported.

Unscrupulous attoneys?I'm shocked!
Wouldn't providing their names be helpful, you know, so unsuspecting potential clients don't use them.

I don´t want to get into a mess with these attorneys and post names before there is a conviction. To help the public the conduct and the type of scam is more important than the name, if I put that Jose Fulano is doing the bad conduct and people don´t use him and use somebody else because they focus on the name and not the conduct, they will get scammed in the future by a different person.

Statute of limitations is generally 2 years so this guy would discount 15 years and then really only have to pay 2 years.
