American Shot in Chapala

My daughter, who lives in Chapala, reports that last night around 8pm an American was shot near the plaza. Anybody got any information?

I haven't heard anything about this.

This may be related to the robbery and murder of Ray the American that occurred across the street from the plaza a couple of weeks ago. I was in the plaza around that time last night. The police had cordoned off the house where the robbery occurred. Perhaps they were searching for more evidence. Perhaps the authorities came by to pay their respects to Ray's esposa and reassure her that they were working diligently on the case. I've heard there were three rateros involved. Two have been arrested and a search continues for the third.

That could be it. She said there was an area near the plaza with lots of police activity. Someone likely told her what it was related to and she drew the wrong conclusion that the crime had just happened.

He was beaten and died a week later in the hospital.
