Re: Central Ajijic Street Robbery
Bob, I made a mistake, misread your post. I have been out late, so you are incorrect with my accessment. Most areas even if they look nice, are not great after dark. mielicita, Taco man was shot at midnight right at his stand concerning a drug deal. I know more than you do. Yes, details not rumors. But what does it matter? At least to me it doesnt. The other stuff was documented, except the recent expat incident. I really do not care if you go out late, where you go, or who you like. It has no affect on my life. Oviously I have some importance in your life? If you do not care for my comments, use the foe feature, rather than complaining to Daddy. No one forces you to read this. How am I supposed to know where you live?

no susan, he was shot inside tacos compadre, not at the stand in front....sorry. glad you know so much more than me...you must have learned spanish quite rapidly this past year, have started to drive at night, and walk around our central ajijic neighborhoods. i bet you sat next to me at tacos compadre and i didn't even know. i'm tired of this, and i broke my promise to myself, not to respond. knowing you, i just cannot figure out what you get from being susan, bronco, bennie, bennie 2, seventy seven (and we know where that number came from). oh, weren't you a manny too at one point? and just recently maisha. but anyway, have a good trip, a month away should be good for you.

Re: Central Ajijic Street Robbery
Dont you know anything about that man? Stand, restaurant so what, you still do not know what he did. (Or who told me). No one gets shot at midnight for nothing when they have a secondary business. Same with the horse man, and the taxi driver in Chapala. I do not care if someone sells drugs. But if you feel safe in that kind of street envirement that is fine with me. Sometimes they miss the target you know........

Lady Otter, Meanwhile back at Javier Mina there was a mugging at 10 p.m. Please inform your friend mielicita. Let's call it "Central Ajijic Steet Robbery". Did I make a mistake here?

Re: Central Ajijic Street Robbery
Javier Mina robbery was already reported sweetie....and you commented all over the place. The woman's purse was stolen as she put her key in the lock, she reported. Yes, I can read. And you know I know a hell of a lot more than you re drug issues, murders etc. And am fluent in Spanish, which you aren't (which is why you ask me to translate so many laws and legal citations for you)...so I talk to people all the time.
Don't forget "the horse guy" was my neighbor, known him since he was a kid....the taco guy was an acquaintance, related to half my street. And blah blah blah. Yep, L O L she's stirring up the shit and I'm biting yet again. The woman is bonkers....and I've told her as much...but she leaves on a month long trip in 3 days....that's when this will get interesting...a month w/o Susan et al, or will she spend her late nights and early mornings 13 hours ahead of us, writing BS?
If she does write stuff, that's when I will seriously question her sanity.....

Re: Central Ajijic Street Robbery
There have been some very scary talk of crimes happening in Chapala lately but I never see anything about it in the news, just street talk.
I think there has been a murder ...like today or last night...in Chapala, a couple in a hotel that had been there for a few days. No news on that?

Yes, murdered in safe Chapala. mielicita, An error has occurred, you must be mistaken about Javier Mina near carrettera. It is NOT safe, as the lady had her purse stolen at 10 p.m. Just reminding you, based upon your comments directed to me. We discussed the crime at length. Btw, I would not brag about your friends. Horse man? Taco man? Not impressesd.

Thanks for filling in the back story, Mielcita. That is actually funny and so does not feed the troll.
The troll is fed when people´s emotions are ignited, when they can produce anger and confusion and feel they have put one over on others because they are smarter. Laughter is not the reaction they are looking for.

"The street along the side of the pharm is not good. ". HUH,77? that street, Encarnacion Rosas is alive at night with families selling and buying food, and just hanging out with their families. I live around the corner and never hesitate to walk home at night from the Farmacia area, even at midnight.Pedro wrote:have a nice early evening at home by yourself-SNORK!Seventyseven wrote:Bob, You are right. mielcita, The taco man was shot and killed last December '12 (drug dealing). I was visiting a friend we heard the shots. I would not count on his family as protection. (That is not a good reference, I rest my case). There were two armed robberies at the Phram. Last week somethng happended to an expat. I have not reported it, as i need more details. There are creeps lurking around the vacant lot, and on the walkways. Yes they do cross the street. The street along the side of the pharm is not good. The back of Torittos is very dangerous at night. They have the rooster fights at night. Maybe they stopped, as this was several months ago. For me, the cut off time is around 8-8:30 p.m.

Re: Central Ajijic Street Robbery
When I visited Ajijic in March, I walked from my hotel to downtown often late at night. As a old gringo, I was worried about robbery. But I found that if I carried some cigarettes with me, sometimes that was all the local thugs wanted. Or some money for a cerveza which I never did. It worked for me an packs are less than $2us.

point number 1 - these were gingas not gringos. There is a physical difference.Daddio wrote:When I visited Ajijic in March, I walked from my hotel to downtown often late at night. point number 2 - just because it didn't happen to you doesn't mean it won't happen to someone else.
A major point from my perspective is that 2 people together didn't expect a problem. Best not to carry anything of value when you are out at night - as you never know. If you look formidable - you probably will never have a problem. On the other hand, if you are an elder damsel probably best to leave the american express card at home. As for the elder damsel taking up smoking? I would guess that she still would look like a ripe victim
