Will my Telcel  smartphone roam on any of the Canadian telecom networks?

If it can what are the roaming charges like?

Many thanks

Yes, it will roam. The charges are quite high. If your phone is "unlocked" (not tied to a network via contract) then you are better off to go get a Canadian carriers prepaid simcard and pop it in there. The only downside is no one can call or text you on the Mexican number.

Speaking of roaming charges, does anyone know what they are for using your Telcel phone while travelling within Mexico?  Thanks in advance.

This webpage won't tell you an exact amount that TelCel charges but it contains lots of good information about cell phone use in Mexico:

If your cell phone is unlocked, and you are going to the U.S. or Canada for a fairly short time, you can buy a SIM card and only use it for a limited number of days.  For $4 (Cdn) a day you can make unlimited phone calls, text messages AND internet access.

I use this plan and if I send you an invitation, both of us will get one days use for free - when you sign up.
