Rolly, on your website I see you mention a "Family Plan" whereby only the head of household's income is used and the others start with visitor visas.  You are the only source for that information.  Can you elaborate?  Where did you hear this?

There used to be an INM page describing the family plan, but it has moved and I don't know the new URL.

If you don't believe what I wrote on my website, go ask at the INM office.

Not doubting you, just hadn't seen it on any other page, i.e. Mexican Consulate, etc. Thank you for responding.

Do you mean starting immigration from another country, IE the US?
We started in Canada. I'm a financial dependant of my husband. He was able to get a Permanente and because I'm married to him, I received a Temporal. I was told in 2 years that I will be able to become Permanente as well, without financials, since I'm married to a Permanente and the process started out of the country. We'll see on that.

Yes that's basically what was described on Rolly's site. Although I think he mentions other family members coming in as visitants. But the gist of it was that only the head of household needed to show financials, the rest of the family didn't. Thank you for posting as that situation is what I was asking about.

One family member with sufficient income or savings applies for Residente Temporal or Residente Permanente at a Mexican Consulate. When that person gets their Consular permission to go to Mexico to complete the process with INM, then the other family members come with them on visitors visas or come later.

When the primary applicant gets their RT or RP, their immediate family members apply at that same INM office to get the same RT or RP visa, using the Vinculo Familiar por Unidad Familiar.
