The Drive from Guanajuato to Dolores Hidalgo - High Road Hwy 110

We took time out of our recent visit to Guanajuato to take a drive over to Dolores Hidalgo to purchase some Talavera Pottery.  While Dolores Hidalgo is known for Talavera, the village of Santa Rosa is known for Mexico's adaptation of Mallorca Pottery and Gorky Gonzalez may be the best known potter of this style:

This style is found in many of the shops and galleries in Guanajuato.  Santa Rosa is a wide spot in the road about 20 to 30 minutes outside of Guanajuato and the studios are worth a visit.
