As there was some discussion a while back regarding Banda and its local quality, and while I stand the possibility of being accused  Dead Horse Here's a bit played professionally. I still think the local bands are great and love their enthusiasm.

Try Banda Carnival. The album I heard was in tune.

There are definitely some good ones out there. I still maintain that I'd rather hear banda and mariachi all night long than to hear techno music all night long.

There's good and bad within every genre (except, perhaps, electronia/techno  Shocked ). I live within earshot of the Charro Ring in Ajijic for better and for worse. I've heard the range. The better bands generally play when it's a bigger fiesta/holiday.

I do not include the local Ajijic banda - who we hear regularly at every insignificant parade or event - among the good bands. They are appallingly bad, but make up for it with volumne. Still, everybody seems to have a good time so who cares? Not me. Doesn't bother me a bit and I do get a giggle out of their noisemaking enthusiasm.

Well here's one that covers all those points - a rapper and Billy Ray Cyrus remake of achy breaky heart, complete with twerking aliens. Only in America. Shocked
