Washer & Dryer - buy used or new?

It's been years since we rented a place that didn't already have a washer and dryer, but here we are and I'm looking for advice. I seem to recall there being a decent used appliance place in Chapala, but don't remember where it is. Or am I better off buying new, and if so, where?

Your choice entirely, but we bought our second-hand washer, drier and fridge from the shop in Riberas (on the carretera, lake side). We've had them for over a year and we're very satisfied.

IMO, If you plan on being around here for a while I would buy new. When you move you can take them with you. New appliances are far more energy efficient and usually have warranty. I purchase all my appliances from Tio Sam's on the libreimento.

On the other hand, if you are continually moving from rental to rental and they usually have appliances then maybe a "throw away" set for your current rental is a better option........
