Laptops & similar, voltage inputs
I will be traveling to a 220 volt country. Can I plug my MacBook into the outlet there, to recharge, without frying it ? I heard you can. TIA.

Do it all the time...all you need is an adapter, easily bought at most electronics stores or definitely at airports but a little more expensive there.

Thx Slainte. The word that I heard re my Mac Book is, that device will adapt the currency automatically, ie, it doesn't care wether the incoming is 220 or 110. Apparently the device will just take whatever incoming voltage feed, adjust and turn it into a 12 volt recharge in the device. BTW, I have an adapter.

Sounds like your M/B has a self contained adapter. Don't know if I would be brave enough to trust it, but tech support should be able to answer your question and whether they would guarantee such an "experiment". I would want to know for sure.
I have always used adapters in the EU for anything electronic from this side of the world.

Don't forget to get the adapters to plug your US style plug to the Standard AC plug where
you are going. If you have a external power supply look at the back and the input spec
will tell you what you want to know. If you have an internal to computer power supply it
will either say where the plug goes into the unit or check your manual if it doesn't.
