Where to Buy Pastrami and Corned Beef

There was a discussion about which, if any restaurant serves Pastrami and Corned Beef. It turned out that Early Bird does.

Here's a simple solution to spending $ 90 pesos per sandwich at Early Bird and staying home in the comfort of your home without dogs at a restaurant. Super Lake has Pastrami and Corned Beef, down back and to the right in vacuum packages. Just tonight we had Pastrami, second week in a row.

A nice light summer meal without using several pots or the oven. Pick up some small Bimbo rolls for single sandwiches or the large Bimbillos rolls for hefty sandwiches. We grilled the rolls, boiled the Pastrami in mustard, added a slice of cheese to the sandwich with mustard. Deeelicious. We used all the package. For $ 55 pesos for two, it's hard to beat.

Add a jar of pickles of your choice and potato chips and you have a nice light summer meal with little cleanup.

Roberto's sometimes has a creditable corned beef, and will, for his friends, either buy the brisket and give you the recipe, or sell some to you at a fair price.

Smitty's makes a killer corned beef, brisket, and pastrami. Across from Mom's restaurant on the mountain side, not even half-a-block up.
