Re: Where else have you lived
I've lived in 53 cities/towns in 11 states and Nova Scotia. I'm sure you don't want the whole list. I don't live in the Lakeside area.
I moved to México for a new adventure in my old age. I sure have found it!

Re: Where else have you lived
like rolly, i've lived in tons of cities and towns, although all in the US. some of the highlights are:
new orleans
san francisco and sonoma county (in my hippie days)
hawaii (waikiki and kaneohe) (also in my hippie days)
bloomington, indiana (started college at age 35 an indiana university)
death valley, california
the everglades, florida
zion and bryce national parks, utah
and i moved here from petrified forest national park, arizona
i moved for the same reasons as most.....climate and cost of living (there's no way i could ever afford to retire any place where they speak english as a native language)

Which takes us back to the humor section and the joke about the lady and her dentist and who's an old fart anyway? Not any of us, to be sure.

Re: Where else have you lived
Wow, am I boring. Not that this is a surprise to anyone. Detroit, Michigan and environs for 61 years, until I moved to Ajijic five years ago this month. Why here? I had been reading about Ajijic off and on for almsot 30 years. Maids, gardeners, drivers, lake for 600 USD per month. In January of 2004, my best friends since 1963, invited me to spend a month with them in Florida, as I had set them up with a doublewide retnal from another friend of mine for three months, while they were searching for a winter home in Florida. I hated to leave after 30 days to return to snowbound Detroit and my car, whcih I had left in the Detroit Metro Parking lot was frozen stiff. I mean encased in ice. Took me over an hour to chip enough away to make it driveable and then I slipped and slid along the freeways until I got home. Went to pick up my mail from the post office the next day and lo and behold, the infamous April, 2004 AARP article on retirement in Mexico (which brough a great influx of folks to this area) and there was Ajijic. again. I picked up the phone and called my friends in Florida to see when they would be back in Michigan and told them I would give them a week break and then we were going to Ajijic for ten days. Took me a year to get here fulltime, but moved here May 19, 2005, and have never looked back. OK, so I have looked back, but have never regretted my decision. Zoey

Re: Where else have you lived
I lived in Edmonton, Regina, Victoria & Vancouver. All cold, rainy Canadian cities......hence the reason we're moving down to the lake. Our target date is the fall of 2012.

Mine's freakishly like Bob's!
Saskatoon, Calgary, Edmonton, Victoria.
Even worse, we actually contemplated Bucerias at one point...but this fat boy would melt in the summer heat so no way!
Our target date is 2015.
