Message from President Anaya:

I am addressing the citizenship of Chapala to tell you that through the Director of the Municipal Police, Lieutenant Colonel Raul Valenciano, we have contacted the State Prosecutor's Office and the Secretary of Public Security of the State, Juan Bosco Agustín Pacheco Medrano, from the first moment it started circulating on social networks about the disappearance of young people.

This situation concerns me as much as you do, it cannot be possible for this to happen in Chapala, and although this fact is faithful reflection of the unfortunate situation that prevails throughout the national territory, I give you my word that we are working hard and with all the willingness to collaborate with the authorities responsible for responding to a subject as delicate as the disappearance of people is.

It's time to be united, and if anyone knows anything about the situation or sees any suspicious activity, please help us with that information, your collaboration is very valuable.

For my part I will continue to manage with the State Prosecutor's Office to pay special attention to these cases and have the background of what has happened.

We must return peace of mind to Chapala. It's the route I'll keep working on.

Me dirijo a la ciudadanía de Chapala para decirles que a través del Director de la Policía Municipal, el teniente coronel Raul Valenciano, nos hemos puesto en contacto con la Fiscalía del Estado y el Secretario de Seguridad Pública del Estado, Juan Bosco Agustín Pacheco Medrano, desde el primer momento que comenzó a circular en redes sociales sobre la desaparición de jóvenes.

Esta situación me preocupa tanto como a ustedes, no puede ser posible que esto pase en Chapala, y aunque este hecho es fiel reflejo de la lamentable situación que impera en todo el territorio nacional, les doy mi palabra que estamos trabajando fuerte y con toda la disposición para colaborar con las autoridades encargadas de dar respuesta a un tema tan delicado como lo es la desaparición de personas.

Es momento de estar unidos, y si alguna persona sabe algo sobre la situación o ve alguna actividad sospechosa, por favor ayúdenos con esa información, es muy valiosa su colaboración.

Por mi parte seguiré gestionando con la Fiscalía del Estado para que ponga especial atención en estos casos y tengan el antecedente de lo que ha ocurrido.

Debemos regresar la tranquilidad a Chapala. Es la ruta por la que seguiré trabajando.

As a result of an operation carried out by the staff of the Specialist Prosecutor's Office for Missing Persons in Jalisco in an estate, the lively location of eight people reported missing in the municipality of #Chapala was achieved.

The number may be under-reported. They make it next to impossible to report crimes.

Who knows? There is a famous study that you coulke an average white, middle class person off the street and within 6 months, you could radicalize them, for religion, crime, mayhem, prostitution, purposes. The most famous was Patty Hearst radicalized by the Symbiones Liberation Army.
