Where are we at with Uber locally

I haven't needed to use them for about 6 months. Is Uber still alive and doing well locally?

I heard that they were adding a "return" surcharge because drivers couldn't be sure to get a ride back to GDL.

Actually they can be sure not to get one, 99 per cent of the time..

They are easier to find weekends and daily 10am to 8pm, they have been fewer and fewer

Too bad. I guess not enough people are using them locally.

I hhink it is the same problem than the cabs.. In San Cristobal  the babs are everwhere, except whe you have a downpour and the locals are the ones using them , we also have colectivos  and you cn share cabs.. here it is dismal, I guess people never got iinto the habit of using them and the distances are larger..
I small villages we have moto taxis too , here nothing..

Recently I took a Uber ride. Read the following and see how rediculously Uber added some items I never seen before. Not sure how much of this added fee go to the driver. Rip off Uber.
Other than this you can order a trip thru you phone apps and normally you get a ride within 10 minutes.

Is it still a ripoff if they charged you that with all the fees where a local taxi would be 120-180 pesos?

Looks more like they provide a detailed breakdown of charges that they didnt in the past. Was it indicating that the fare should have been 8 pesos?

The trip was from the new hospital/Farmacia Guad in San Antonio to about 200 meters west of Dental Express. A year ago it only costed me 48 pesos and no itemized.

What was the original quote when you ordered the Uber? How many of the add-ons were not included in the quote. You can dispute the add-ons and usually win.

When order the quote was about 48 pesos. I'm fine with that.
The final figure really made me upset .
I was on the rush so never thought about dispute and now you reminded me. Thanks.
But what is the process of dispute to Uber anyway? Have you gone thru it? Let me know.

You can dispute right on your app after you see the charge. Play around with the app and you'll probably find the dispute area. I have disputed and they removed the extra charges.

The total fare was definitely less than you would pay for a taxi for that distance. The average taxi fare would be 100-140 pesos for that trip.
