Quartz Watch Batteries

Dies anyone know where to have the batteries for a quartz watch replaced?

Preferably lakeside.

If it's an inexpensive watch the guy at the Tianguis on Weds. can do it. If it's a high-end piece then take it to Liverpool in the Gallerias mall. He's near the food and wine.

Or, if it's a high end watch and you're feeling lazy, take it to Daniel Jackson Garcia and he'll take it to Guadalajara for you.

And there's the little hole in the wall jewelry and "stuff" store down at the corner of 16 de Septiembre where you turn left to go to the malecon. He has most kinds and will even pop off the back FOR YOU.

I think I'll head into Guad next week. The watch is waterproof and looks like it requires a special tool to twist open the back.

The watch guy in Chapala used to do all that sort of watch repair stuff. I'm sorry he's gone (died). There's a good business opportunity there

Hector the watch man in Chapala and at the Chapala and Ajijic tianguis is very knowledgeable and a good man. I've done business with him many times. He is still at the tianguis but his puesto is now on Madera about a block or 2 north of the plaza. Many watches are waterproof and I think if he couldn't do it for some reason he would tell you.
