MagicJack + 2014
Anybody using the new upgraded MJ+ yet? I just picked up a couple of them and wondering if there is any support yet for the WiFi and USB ports on it.

I use net talk. It plugs into modem directly and have been using it for 2.5 years. You can buy 5 years
worth of service, Port your number. No phone number for support. Support is online only. A little more
expensive than majic jack but it works better in my opinion. None of the VOIP services work worth a
crap sometimes when internet is flaky. I would buy again.

MagicJack Plus plugs directly into the modem. You can port your US number. You can buy five years worth of service at a discount. There is telephone support (but man, you gotta be patient!)

Re: MagicJack + 2014
Thanks, Axixic, for those links. Proving once again that MJ is a great product with slimy advertising and greedy fingers, the likes of which we haven't seen since Resdan's TV commercials. No WiFi at all, anywhere. "Coming". The same product, only now you only get 6 months included with your purchase, instead of a year. Did I hear correctly? The unit price is back down to $29.99?
To take this one step further, why would you want wireless anyway? The unit plugs right into a router port: so easy. Perhaps like a cordless phone set I bought, that advertises you can use your cell phone, too, to make regular calls... but which never worked for me at all.

I would think the wireless would come in handy when staying at hotels/resorts which provide wifi but no direct access to a modem.HelperGuy wrote:why would you want wireless anyway? Re: MagicJack + 2014
That's an excellent point. However, since the MJ also plugs in directly to your laptop without the need for ethernet, and I would expect you would need to anyway in order to get the hotel WEP/WPA into the MJ... I'm not sure if I can dig it...
