I tried Sorry Annas and the shoe store , shoe store in the mall opposite Wally World , Wally World ( crap ...came apart in my hand ) and Mia's ....no luck ....have you seen one ?

I'd try the Dollar Store across the street from Ajijic Plaza. Haven't seen one there but they seem to have everything in that place.

I have no idea what it would be in Spanish. I generally find a picture and print it out and take it with me.

small mart on the plaza has them for little girls feet ....the Spanish is "calzador"

At the Wednesday tianguis in Ajijic you can buy a hard plastic combination back scratcher and shoe horn. They come in real handy. I use mine for mixing paints. Check it out at the back scratcher booth.

Try opening your eyes!  Hundreds or even thousands of pairs at Mercado Libertad in Guadalajara and even more in the Zona Piel in Leon.

OOPS, excuse me I forgot that it was a rule that some Gringos are confined to the Lake Chapala "Gringo Zone" and travel into Guadalajara or other areas of Mexico is forbidden.

CG is cranky tonight. Oh, wait. CG is cranky every night--and day. He is also fixated on where people shop and whether or not they choose to travel. Because CG knows everything about everybody´s lives, health and finances. He also knows where, why and how they choose to shop or not shop and to travel or not travel.  Even the purchase of a shoe horn offers him an opportunity to stand up on his soap box and pontificate on how other people should be living. This probably doesn't apply to you -but there is an especially long shoe horn available at medical supply stores for people who have trouble reaching low. there is also a sturdy 'grabber' claw for getting things off high shelves, or picking up from the floor. Saying this -I don't know where the local store is, although I know there is one, They can order in from Guadalajara. Lots of stuff to make your life easier -look on a U.S. website to get some ideas.

Maybe the orthopedic shoe store on Degollado in Chapala...a block east of Madero on the lake side.

Even up north when buying a new pair of shoes at Sears, they want to give you a plastic shoe horn. I always say, give me a metal one and I will buy the shoes, if not, no shoes. So far that's worked. I will try to pick up an extra one or two while up north this time and return with them.

No promises this time, because I won't be buying any new shoes. But I shall try.
