Good appliance repair in Chapala? Dryer needs help.
Help! Our 2 year old dryer has undergone 4,800 pesos of repairs from a <<highly recommended>> repair guy out of Joco.
He started with replacing the thermostat. Then replaced the whole motor. At which point the clothes dryer would dry the clothes -- but never stopped running. So, dis guy replaced the timer/program switch. Now the dryer will stop on time BUT IT DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY HEAT. AAaargh! And de guy today says, oh gotta get a new thermostat for it, and put that in. Well, that's where we STARTED.
I've seen a couple of places in Chapala with signs that say they do appliance repair. Anyone have good experiences with any of these? And can tell me how to contact them, or their street address? Since we live right outside of Chapala, it makes a lot more sense to use someone local. Oh, and we'd tried to use a couple of outfits from Riberas when we first had the problem, one pair looked at the dryer and said they couldn't find anything wrong, the other wouldn't come to look at it, just said that the motor would have to be sent to Guad for repair/replacement and they would have to be paid 5,000 pesos for this. That's how we ended up with using the guy from Joco.

I've used Electro Domestic in Riberas but it was many years ago. Repaired a washer and were not expensive. You could have bought a new dryer for the cost of repairs so far. Have you tried taking the back off and cleaning the fuzz and lint out?

I bought several items from Electro Domestico in Riberas. I had trouble with two refridges & they could/would not fix. Kept sending people from Guad that said they were not rsponsible
I would not use them or suggest anyone else to use them

Wouldn't use them ever, took an expensive coffee maker to be fixed. Went back again and again, it was not ready, needed parts, etc. Then, all of a sudden, poof, it was gone, never to be seen again.sm1mex wrote:there is a little electric shop north on Colon 1 block upm mountain side, from the carretera on the right, east, side. Thanks, Flamingo, Jose Lopez worked out fine for us and I will use him again. He came, diagnosed the problem, took a couple of days to find the parts, came back and fixed it. Dryer runs fine now.
