Calling all Dan Fans
I just saw on TOB that one of my favorite musicians Daniel Cordero is coming to Ajijic on Friday. The post there says:
"I understand that singer/acoustic guitarist Daniel Cordero just completed another contracted run with the Twin Lions Casino in GDL and will be appearing in Ajijic twice on Friday, Sept. 6. He will first do the Happy Hour at Los Telares, then be at El Camaleón Bar at about 9:30 or 10 (no cover at either place). I was told that he will not yet have his newest CD available then, but it is coming soon.
Daniel got his start here years ago and is making a big splash in GDL and other resort areas. Apparently his manager has big plans for him. If you want to check out his classic oldies, blues, reggae and originals (in both Spanish & English), this is your chance. He is an amazing home-grown talent."
Like the poster there, I am a Dan Fan. Hope to see others there too.

Re: Calling all Dan Fans
I only caught Daniel Cordero once about a year ago and really enjoyed his performance. Highly recommended.

David is working with his brother Daniel to finalize their third CD for Psychostasia. He will be at El Camaleon Friday night if you want to touch bases with them both.slainte39 wrote:Where is his brother, David?

Yeah, he said he remembers you from when he was playing on the Batur cruises, which petered out when the lake level got so low. Hopefully again one day, the lake will rise, and the cruises will resume with Daniel playing on them once more.albertrv wrote:I only caught Daniel Cordero once about a year ago and really enjoyed his performance. Re: Calling all Dan Fans
Silly question but you have to remember I'm a south sider....
Where is the Los Telares? And what time is Happy Hour?
With the road construction in full swing between Joco and SLS there is no way I'm driving home in the dark.

Any chance that he will still be around next week somewhere?

We went to Las Telares last Friday, saw Dan and he was wonderful. A real treat. He played 6 - 8 pm.

Re: Calling all Dan Fans
For now, Daniel is playing every Friday 6-8 at Los Telares during their 2X1 Happy Hour.
Although he is primarily working in GDL & resort areas, he has wanted at least one gig a week here locally, or else he'd never see his family and friends. So he keeps a rental house here at Lakeside, even though he isn't here much. When he is here, he is working with his bro David to finalize recording of two CDs.
Having just completed another contracted run at the Twin Lions, he will hopefully be around a bit more, at least for awhile. But he is a VERY busy guy...sometimes doing as many as 10 events a week. Not bad for a solo performer!
When just starting out, he played for quite awhile at Bruno's 2/Vicky's Hideaway, where he recorded his first LIVE & unplugged album.
Some may also remember his terrific Sound Therapy CD also, where he used beautiful extemporaneous acoustic guitar over binaural beats for sleep and healing. It sold out almost immediately, with orders from all over the world. He is currently working on a 2nd Sound Therapy CD geared toward mental alertness and peak performance.
AND he is finalizing a music theory course that is revolutionary. Already has people interested in it.
