WHERE TO BUY BICYCLES

Looking to buy our gardener new transportation. With all the coble stone a mountain type bike would be great.  Probably Guadalajara.  Suggestions appreciated!

Yes Guadalajara has bike shops, but higher end bike are thief targets. Want ads or (Ugh I hate to say this) Wal Mart are options. In some Tianguis there may be some bikes (probably hot) as well as San Juan de Dios. I can't remember seein them there, though I wasn't looking for bikes!
Look for the cheapest looking bike and, yes a suspension bike would be more comfortable. I sold my Nishiki MB in Chapala not long ago, it was good on the streets, though a temptation for theives,

I haven't looked for it recently, but there was a bike shop, both new and used, on the right hand side of the carratera as you drive out of Chapala near the roast chicken place. About 4-5 blocks before Soriana.

The pawn shop beside Soriana's also has used bikes.

I have seen used bikes for sale at the bike repair shop at six points.

There is also a bike shop selling used bikes 1 block north of the carretera (go north on Colon and take the first right - it is in the middle of the block on the north side of the street).

Only if you are walking or riding a bike....otherwise no/no.

Thank You all for the info. We are going to GDL, hopefully to find the perfect bike with shocks, heavy frame, etc. He has been riding his sisters bike for a month.
