I remember reading somewhere amongst all the posts on immigration that if one person qualifies for a residente permanente visa then other members of the family can get a visa.

Since I have a residente permanente visa, does this mean that my adult daughter can come and live with me in Mexico and also obtain a residente permanente visa without having to pass the income requirements?

Thank you for any on topic replies.

I doubt it. My wife and I had to apply and qualify separately. It will be interesting to see what Spencer has to say.

Verdad, CanuckBob? How recently, and which consulate were you dealing with?

Did you try to do it the other way, with one qualifying first and the other second on familial grounds, and were told you could not?

We did it here last March because we already had FM3's. I have not seen anything about "dependants" like with the old rules however they must have something in place for children. We were able to qualify separately so didn't look into it any further.

When I picked up mine, I asked for an adult son, who drives a US plated vehicle.  They said it didn't matter which family member it went through, so the rule says she qualifies for it because of family relations.
