Another Restaurant Fails

Sorry, I don't know the exact name of this place, Schwarm something. . .right next door to the gelato place in SAT. They gave up the ghost and were packing up all the stuff and moving out today. They said they just couldn't make it. They were upbeat about it tho.

Didn't even have time to get to try it.
I've heard that the general rule of thumb for a restaurant is to have enough in the bank to last out a year. If it's not working after a year, then close. It takes that much time to establish a regular clientele and that's IF you've got good food at reasonable prices and are consistent as hell.

Not to worry - just like NOB, someone with think they have a better concept and attempt to make the location work. Who hasn't observed this phenomenon repeat itself over and over anywhere they have lived? The only question I have is: where the heck do they keep finding the money?

Shawarmex - if that's how the hell they spelled it - was actually GOOD and DIFFERENT than the rest of the crap available locally. We went 3 or 4 times.

Their very quick exit makes me sad. Almost went there yesterday. I suspect the (very young) proprietor decided pastures would be greener elsewhere. Can't blame him.

I never even got a chance to try it either. Oh well.

It was good but Cairo Café in Ajijic plaza is also good. Try the fruit banana
fruit milkshake it goes so well with Mid Eastern food.

No raw kibbe and no dolmas at Cafe Cairo. Sad to see my new favorite place to eat fail so quckly. In addition, it had parking unlike Cafe Cairo. Was a regular at Wael's place when it was in east Riberas. Have not stopped there once since they moved into the congestion of lower Ajijic, which I avoid as much as possible.
