WARNING!!!!
It appears the guys who were prying open garage doors to enter homes are back. My neighbors were gone yesterday afternoon for about 1 1/2 hours. When they returned they found the door had been crowbarred opened and then their inside door. The robbers closed the doors behind them as they entered so noone saw anything amiss.
A neighbor from around the corner saw two Mexicn men down the street and two on the other end just kind of hanging out. They were probably watching for an opportunity to pounce.

Re: WARNING!!!!
Thanks for the warning. These days we padlock our garage door when we leave home even for just an hour or so and activate our movement sensitive, constantly monitored and very loud alarm system so that even if they do get into our garage the racket they set off will be ear splitting plus the alarm company will be calling on the residence or calling the cops shortly thereafter. Otherwise, as the incident you report suggests, even with the padlock, they can pry a garage door open wide enough for a small person to enter and then they could ransack a home in private at their leisure if no alarm system is activated.
Your comment also indicates that these guys may have been stalking the street as they used to a while back and have lookouts who report when any of us leaves home. Watch for people on your street, including kids, who seem to be hanging out with no purpose. If you spot this on your street it is not a bad idea to stop and ask if you can be of assistance so they know they have called atttention to themselves.

Re: WARNING!!!!
Another good question would be (to start looking at demographics) what kind of houses are broken into.
We live in a small, nondescript house that for sure doesn't shout "MONEY."
The cars also don't draw much attention other than a nicely painted VW Safari.
I'm thinking the bad guys are more likely to go where the residents look "monied" rather than lower middle class.
Just a comment.

Re: WARNING!!!!
The house that was broken into is one of the smallest on the street and is a rental so the theory about being flashy does not work. I think the type of gate it is and how easy to pry it open is more important to these guys. It is a modest , unassuming house and the cars cannot be seen.
The one before that was also a modest looking house.
The guys are staking out the street and hit the people who leave.....

Re: WARNING!!!!
Agree with Brigitte. The car that has its contents removed first will be the one where the door is unlocked, whether it's a Chevy or a Caddy.

Re: WARNING!!!!
Talaosian your theory about shouting money is totally off which means that you too could be a target if you are seen leaving your property.

Re: WARNING!!!!
Any idea of what the guys who were on the street look like? Young cholo type , middle age? Any description by anyone. Since we have a few of these doors on the street we probably will have more of their visits.
