Star Choice DSR209 reciever...
Hi
Trying to figure out why he is losing his signal sometimes. 3 to 4 ft dish one LNB. On HNN channel 141 I am getting a 36 using his 209. My 530 with E75
dish gets 68 on channel 141. Can these two receivers be compared on signal strength? If anyone has a DSR209 I would apprecitate it if you could look at
the signal strength on HNN #141 and post what it is. Don't want to go up on the roof unless we have to as it is quite high off the ground. Pretty sure the
wind has blown his dish around a little bit but would like to be sure. Other channels show low signal strength compared to my 530/E75 setup.
Thanks

I think you mean HLN (headline News) which can be seen on channel 502 on the classic schedule and for those who have recently subscribed to Shaw Direct, 141 on the new or "Advanced" channel lineup.
On my 75E I'm getting a signal strength of 82 on a 600 HD receiver.
I just tried the same on an old 505 connected via a different RG-6 cable to the same LNB and only got 40 which seems very low.

They changed there name to HNN (headline news network). Can't remember when as I don't watch it much. I think the 500/600 measures differently
than older receivers.
Anybody else have a number for me? Thanks for the datapoint Pete.
