Jim,
I have fished with the Osuna family, Danny Gomez, and others.

I would recomend Lora: https://www.facebook.com/FortunaSportfishing out of Punta Mita for inshore style trips. Great guy and very experienced.

Big Tuna fishing is on RIGHT NOW. Unusual for this time of year. I will be doing a 2.5 day trip with Danny Osuna in 2 weeks at the Tres Maria islands

We used live Cabbies (a big minnow) and squid that we caught at night. We would drift, which I much prefer over trolling. The boat supplied all equipment, but we did pay for the cabbies. The rods and reels, line hooks, etc are very specialized to maximize your opportunity to land the fish. I have hooked big tuna before only to fight them and have the tuna win!

It was a 3 night 2 day trip. I think it is best to wait until next season now. Season starts after hurricane months.......mid October thru Feb was good this year.

Thanks for sharing tommy499. I love to fish for the Roosters from the beach, but am thinking about a trip to the Marrieta Islands. Do you ever go after the Roosters or just the Tuna's?
