Re: Alberta Man dies at Mexican Resort
I feel sorry for this man and his family and friends so I would never make light of such an incident but it does seem that this falling off of balconies is a Canadian propensity here in Mexico whether after the consumption of a great deal of alcohol or an altercation or both.
Now, in rural South Alabama in the 1950s when Dawg was a sprought, we lacked many tall buildings so tended to buy the farm slamming into bridge abutments at excesssive speeds on rural highways often under the influence of alcoholic beverages. Considering my wasted youth, it is a miracle I´m still here but nevermind, I´m seventy so that will soon come that special dispensation will soon come to an end.
Young folks (and old folks for that matter) come down to fun vacation spots such as Cancun, get drunk and fall off of landings. That´s life. Could have happened as well in Calgary.

Cliche but sad, true either drugs, or falling off balconies kills most young Canadians in Mexico it seems.

It's so weird. When I saw the subject of the thread, that a Canadian man had died at a Mexican Resort, I said to myself, "Oh come on....this can't be another balcony story.
Very sad. And very strange.

Not another balcony story but apparently Hallandale, FL isn't safe for elderly Canadian snowbirds:
